Hispanic Have Huge Impact On 2013 Movie Box Office.-
Latinos accounted for 25% of theater ticket sales in 2013, according to data released yesterday by the Motion Picture Association of America. Despite being only 17% of the U.S. population, Hispanics continue to over-index when it comes to seeing films in the theater. In fact, Latinos make up 32% of “frequent moviegoers;” people who go to the movies more than once a month.

World Poetry Day was adopted as 21 March by UNESCO in 1999. It is an invitation to reflect on the power of language and the full development of each person’s creative abilities. It also supports linguistic diversity through poetic expression and offers endangered languages the opportunity to be heard within their communities.

Poetry for humanity

Unesco declared March 21 as World Poetry Day in 1999 to give fresh recognition and impetus to national, regional and international poetry movements with the premise that "poetry reaffirms our common humanity by revealing to us that individuals, everywhere in the world, share the same questions and feelings."

As per Unesco, the purpose of celebrating World Poetry Day is to encourage the oral tradition of poetry recitals and to promote dialogue between poetry and painting, music, theatre and other art forms. Supporting small publishers who publish poetry, making poetry attractive for the media, re-moulding the image of poetry in the media and making it attractive for the younger generation are some of the other goals behind celebrating World Poetry Day.

On the 15th anniversary of World Poetry Day, Unesco could consider establishing the institution of a World Poet Laureate as a consultant in poetry to Unesco or simply a Unesco World Poet whose task would be to travel across the world promoting poetry and raising global consciousness for the greater appreciation of poetry.

World Poetry Day - 21 March - Poetry reaffirms our common humanity by revealing to us that individuals, everywhere in the world, share the same questions and feelings.

Poetry is the mainstay of oral tradition and, over centuries, can communicate the innermost values of diverse cultures.

In celebrating World Poetry Day, March 21, UNESCO recognizes the unique ability of poetry to capture the creative spirit of the human mind.

LET'S RECLAIM HAPPINESS.
Advertisers tell us that happiness comes from buying and consuming their products. Celebrities and the media pretend it comes with beauty & fame. And politicians claim that nothing matters more than growing the economy.
